Review: Gobby Terp Sugar by Dabstract
The great thing about Dabstract tapping into the Bedford Grow genetic catalog is that they have a very deep list to pull from. Even after exploring the collection for several years, I’m still finding new cuts. I recently had the opportunity to pick up a new-to-me Gobby as a Terp sugar from Dabstract.
Gobby is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Gelato Mint and London Pound Mints. This batch of terp sugar tested at 2.15% THC, 92% THCa, and 96.4% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 2.28% of the total weight with caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene indicated as the heaviest.

A mound of large kosher-salt sized clear THCa crystals took on a bright sunflower-yellow color at the edges from a terpene heavy oil that seemed to cling to the outside of each crystal. The terpene heavy oil wasn’t very sticky and made for some cumbersome dosing without the correct scoop.
The scent from the jar was a very tangy mix of hot diesel, orange flesh, lime peel, sharp cleaner, white vinegar, and dry hops. The flavor was much less sharp on the palate, focusing on a more rounded blend of orange, lemongrass, and warm cinnamon on the exhale. The lighter flavor had zero staying power and left a clean palate in its wake.
While Gobby is genetically an indica-hybrid, the effect profile fell exactly in the center of the spectrum. Initially, a wave of playfulness and optimism took over my mind. Coming-and-going waves of pressure started to cascade into my body. As the physical effects peaked, providing an allover pulsing pressure sensation, the mental buzz remained positive but became hazy and unfocused during the comedown.
