Review: Grape 4:1 CBN Drink by Tonic
While Illinois is definitely starting to see more infused beverage options, a few labels offer more than a general “one size fits all.” This is where the longstanding Tonic, by Progressive Treatment Solutions, benefits by offering a specialized CBN-ratio product formulated for sleep. I picked up a Tonic+ Grape CBN Drink from Consume Marion to sample.
Tonic+ Grape CBN is a 12-ounce sugar free beverage with 100mg of THC and 25mg of CBN. The ingredients are purified water, natural flavor, cargill citric acid, taste modifier,, cannabis oil, sodium bicarbonate , malic acid, ascorbic acid, purified sea salt, natural coloring, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, and CBN.
A slightly translucent but deep pastel-purple liquid filled my cup. The Tonic bottle came with a handy lined label window that measured 1.2oz shots with 10mg of THC and 2.5mg of CBN each, but I opted for the entire bottle at once. Candy sweet on the front end but much more restrained across the rest of the palate, Tonic Grape tasted like a muted grape Gatorade. The easygoing flavor profile made it simple to drink the entire 12-ounce bottle.
Opening quickly, Tonic Grape induced a hazy state of awareness, a lighthearted mood, and a heavy blanket of physical pressure by the 15-minute mark. This closed-off mental haze worked alongside the building feeling of physical heaviness to get me ready for sleep by the 45-minute mark and almost unable to keep my eyes open at an hour and fifteen minutes. Tonic Grape worked well as a sleep aid, and the easygoing flavor made any dose an enjoyable experience.
