Review: Grease Monkey by Elevate
I picked up two flower samples from one of the newest brands to join Illinois’ market, Elevate Cannabis. The two strains were Grease Monkey and Hell’s OG. For this review, I chose Grease Monkey.
Grease Monkey is a hybrid cross of Gorilla Glue #4 and Cookies & Cream, created by Exotic Genetix. This batch tested at 38.43% THCa, 2.28% CBGa, 0.29% THC, and 41.31% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes included beta-caryophyllene, limonene, alpha-humulene, and beta-myrcene. Total terpenes reached 3.454%.

The two grams of flower came as four dense thumb-sized buds. A heavy coat of milky trichomes lightened the olive green and purple colors. The aroma hit with herbal spice, earthy pine, pepper, citrus, skunky diesel, and mushroom coffee. The flavor led with diesel, herbal pine, and citrus on the front end and finished with back notes of earth, spice, pepper, and nutty hops.
The effects were heavy and hard hitting. The head high hit almost immediately and produced heavy eyes and a headband sensation. Grease Monkey delivered a care-free attitude followed by wandering thoughts and forgetfulness. The body buzz also hit quick. The relaxation started in the extremities with waves of pain relief that eventually took over the entire body, delivering a buoying effect with each wave. Though heavy and indica leaning, Grease Monkey only became sedative at the end of the buzz and with heavier doses. Grease Monkey also significantly boosted my appetite without fail.
