Review: Grease Monkey by Terrabis
While I love exploring new genetics, I cherish the ability to sample the same strain from different cultivators. Having this genetic “control” makes for a fairer and easier comparison between grows. I’ve had the privilege of sampling Grease Monkey from various cultivators, and I recently picked up an eighth of the cultivar from dispensary brand turned full-fledged label, Terrabis.
Grease Monkey is a hybrid cross of GG4 and Cookies and Cream, originally bred by Exotic Genetix. This batch of flower tested at 0.39% Delta 9 THC, 32.74% THCa, and 34.2% total cannabinoids.

The buds were deeply colored with an olive drab base further darkened by a coverage of solidly amber trichomes. Thick rust-colored hairs and a few sugar-leaf remnants reached out from the surface, giving the relatively dense buds some extra body. Dense and sticky, these flowers took some effort to break down in both hand and grinder.
Notes of tart diesel, fresh skunk, cooking fat, and hot leather created an impactful and savory opening. Lighter notes of lemon cleaner, vanilla incense, and underripe berries added some fruity variety. In the smoke the heavier tones of skunk, fat, and sour gassy diesel out competed the rest of the profile, coating the tongue and remaining present on the palate for several minutes after the bowl was finished.
The effect followed an “up then down” pattern that opened with a slow building euphoric tingle in my core and a burst of mental clarity at the outset. After fifteen or so minutes the clarity and euphoria was replaced by a hazier headspace and building indica style body pressure. At the peak I could tap into the heavy physical sensations to help lull me to sleep, making Grease Monkey best fit for end of day relaxation.
