Review: Hawaiian Rain by Cookies
It’s been a long time coming to the state, but the most widely recognized brand in cannabis, Cookies, has finally started a steady release of strains via a partnership with Revolution Cannabis. I recently stopped into Enlightened Mount Prospect to pick up a few samples of the new drops to see what the multi-state label is bringing to Illinois. The first review focuses on the strain Hawaiian Rain.
Hawaiian Rain is a hybrid cross of London Pound Mints and Jealousy. This batch of flower tested at 0.49% THC, 20.49% THCa, and 21.36% total cannabinoids.
Inside the mylar bag, I found one large chunky flower with a foxtail tip reaching out from the center, as well as a few smaller popcorn-sized nugs. Bright-turf and forest-green tones intertwined beneath deep royal-purple sugar-leaf remnants, thick fire-orange hairs and a sparkling milky trichome presence. These flowers were dense and bounced back slowly with a satisfying nerf football texture when squeezed.
The aroma inside the bag was bright and sweet with berry, lavender, diesel, and melon top notes floating over a rich and creamy undertone that tied the scent together. The flavor carried notes of berry and perfumed-floral tones, while the creamy undertone from the aroma morphed into a clean vanilla flavor on the palate. While the flavor and aroma were dense on the palate and nose, they disappeared quickly without lingering.
The effects of Hawaiian Rain were slow burning, opening with a dreamy cerebral space that made me more relaxed and positive but completely lacking in concentration. Physically, an overall tingling weightless sensation covered my entire body. Interestingly, while these additional physical sensations were strong, my overall inflammation and joint pain remained untouched.
After the dreamy and cloudy mindspace cleared, I was left tired and physically relaxed for a long time afterward. The dense flavor and dreamy mindscape made this a positive first experience, and I look forward to seeing what else Cookies has brought to the state. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
