Review: Hood Candyz by Revolution
As mentioned, a few Illinois cultivators always grab my attention when they drop new genetics. Revolution Cannabis is one of them, so when I spotted Rev’s newest offering, Hood Candyz, I picked up a sample from Enlightened Mt. Prospect.
Hood Candyz, bred by Solfire Genetics, is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Runtz and Why U Gelly?. This batch of flower tested at 0.78% THC, 23.62% THCa, and 24.76% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes indicated were β-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, β-myrcene, and α-terpineol.

These flowers were highly photogenic with a base tone of forest green and splashes of royal purple underneath and plenty of fire orange hairs, all of it coated in a dense and sparkling milky trichome frost. Hood Candyz had a nerf football bounceback when squeezed and left a hashy greasiness on my fingers after I had done so.
Opening the jar flooded my nose with the rich heavy cream and fruity candy scent of classic Runtz. Underneath aromas turned heavily pungent with notes of burnt rubber, leather, musk, and diesel closing out the scent. The flavor was just as strong as the aroma with bright candied berries, lemon whipped cream, hot rubber, musk, and diesel.
Hood Candyz worked quickly, boosting my mood, making me silly, and provoking a serious case of the munchies. Other than giggly, irreverent, and craving ice cream, Hood Candyz provided an all over relaxation that subdued aches in my muscles and joints.
Outside of this, the physical side of the effect profile was light and manageable with only slight tingles. Hood Candyz was an anytime of day strain, much closer to a hybrid than an indica.

Overall, I really enjoyed the remix on the classic Runtz flavor and light physical relaxation Hood Candyz provided. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
