Review: Hop Infused Orange Gummies by NGW and Half Acre
I’ve already reviewed the intriguing collaboration between Nature’s Grace and Wellness and Half Acre, infusing cannabis flowers with hops. The brands didn’t stop there, releasing an entire line of products combining cannabis and hops. I picked up a pack of the hop-infused Orange Gummies to review.
NGW and Half Acre Hop Infused Orange Gummies come as a 10-pack of gummies with 5mg of THC per piece for a total of 50mg of THC per package. The ingredients are sugar, organic tapioca starch, water, pectin, citric acid, sodium citrate, cannabis oil, hops terpene, orange oil, and vegetable oil.
Translucent-tangerine colored with a raised Half Acre logo in the center, each gummy was the same circumference as a nickel and just over a quarter-inch thick. The texture was classic bouncy gummy, providing a juicy mouthfeel when chewed. The small size and easy to chew texture made it simple to multidose with three or more gummies at a time.
The flavor was more complex than the simple “Orange” label indicated with the hop infusion, adding some real depth to the profile. The top end was classic sweet tangerine, but this changed halfway through becoming a richer blend of freshly turned earth, mustard greens, and tangy-dried hops. There was no indication of the cannabis infusion, instead this was replaced with a pleasant hoppy bitterness near the finish.
After 30 minutes, a wave of muscle relaxation took over my body while my headspace turned quiet, peaceful, and content. The buzz turned tiring at the peak, weighing down my body and clouding my awareness. Notably long lasting, this tiring effect stretched well past the two-hour mark, making these a solid choice for ensuring a good night of sleep. Overall, these gummies provided a unique flavor profile and effects that hit above their weight class.
