Surprisingly, quality hand pipes have been the most difficult to find for reviews. I would enjoy reviewing more heady glass pipes, but it’s difficult for a glass artists to give up a special and expensive piece—and rightfully so. A plain straight or spoon pipe has few new characteristics to review, especially when ultra-mass produced. And I refuse to review an out-of-country glass pipes that may be harmful.

So for this review, I chose two silicone hand pipes from Waxmaid: the 4.3″ Freezable Silicone Ice Spoon Pipe and the Daimon 2-in-1 Pipe & Nectar Collector Kit.

The 4.3″ Freezable Silicone Ice Spoon Pipe, made of platinum cured silicone material, has a hexagon bowl with a carb hole on the front side. The special feature and original patent design for the Ice Spoon Pipe is the hollow design inside that allows for storing and freezing water for a cool smooth hit. The 18 mm glass bowl has nine tiny holes and is deep enough for several hits.

The Silicone Ice Spoon Pipe is durable, practical, and easy to clean. The Daimon 2-in-1 Pipe & Nectar Collector Kit is similar to the Ice Spoon but with an added feature.

The Daimon 2-in-1 Pipe & Nectar Collector Kit has a removable bowl I can replace with a 10mm titanium (with filter screen) or 10mm quartz nail for dabbing wax or shatter. The dual hand pipe and dab rig also comes with a dab glass bowl.

I only used the nectar collector once because I’m not a fan of using torches. In fact, I had to borrow a torch for this review. The flower bowl and both nails worked well, though I use both pipes mainly for flower.

Both pipes are made of silicon that is certified “food safe” for culinary applications with safety level goes above and beyond FDA approval standards. The pipes are dishwasher safe and can be boiled for deep cleaning. Waxmaid does not recommend using alcohol to clean the pipes because over time alcohol may be harsh on the silicone.

Overall, the pipes worked well for consumption and offered more characteristics to review than a normal pipe. And out of the two, I tend to use the Ice Spoon more because it’s smaller, and with no one else to social smoke with, the Ice Spoon is more suitable for smoking solo at home.
