Review: It’s Mimosa by Grassroots
Earlier last year when the strain Mimosa started garnering attention from smokers and growers, I wanted to sample it but could not find it around until Grassroots included It’s Mimosa to its strain library. A few weeks ago, I finally had the chance to picked up an eighth of It’s Mimosa from Curaleaf Mokena.
It’s Mimosa is a sativa-dominant hybrid (70% sativa/30% indica) cross of Clementine and Purple Punch, a combination of one of my favorite strains and one of my least favorite. As some already know, I am not a fan of Purple Punch. Ironically, I have enjoyed several strains in which Purple Punch is the parent, and I hoped It’s Mimosa would be one of those that I also could review for our Work Sativa series.

This batch of flower tested at 23.9% THC, 0.51% THCa, and 26.39% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes included beta-myrcene, alpha-pinene, and limonene. With this lineage and terpene profile, I assumed It’s Mimosa would be flavorful.
The bulbous light green buds were filled with bright orange pistils. Breaking the dense bud up released a pungent lemon citrus and skunky funk to go with the fruity and earthy floral from opening the container.

As assumed, the flavor of It’s Mimosa was a dynamic medley of sweet fruit and tropical citrus, especially on the inhale, to combine for an interesting sweet and sour combination. The exhale added a sweet berry flavor and more of that skunky funk left on the aftertaste.
The cerebral effects were uplifting, euphoric, and clearheaded but I would not describe the overall effects as energetic as others have. The head high had a smoothness to it and matched the heavy body buzz, which kept the overall buzz from becoming racy.

As a Work Sativa, It’s Mimosa fit the bill. The uplifting and motivating clearheaded buzz kept my ADD at bay and allowed me to accomplish work during any part of the day: morning, noon, afternoon, and evening. The day dosing also boosted my appetite almost every time.
Overall, It’s Mimosa fit the Work Sativa review series and may be a good choice for those who want sativa motivation without the raciness or those who suffer from ADD/ADHD.
