Review: Jack Herer Badder by PTS
Illinois’ choices in concentrates are slowly opening up. In two months, I have reviewed concentrates named budder, live resin, live sugar, live resin sugar, live rosin, crumble, pressed hash, bubble hash, and honeycomb. Now, it’s Jack Herer Badder by Progressive Treatment Solutions.
Jack Herer is a classic sativa leaning-hybrid cross of Haze with (Northern Lights #5 X Shiva Skunk). This batch of badder tested at 73.3% THCa and 85.6% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent terpenes were terpinolene, b-caryophyllene, and guaiol with smaller amounts of a-bisabolol and ocimene.
This gram came as a mound of shining wet, very deep amber badder. Some consumers may shy away from the heavy colors PTS concentrates are coming out with, but I really appreciate them letting the strains express themselves more fully.
The aroma in the jar was bright and surprisingly fruit forward with fresh orange and lemon on the top before a complex blend of cedar wood, warm cloves, cinnamon, and rich earth began to bloom. This dense aromatic complexity carried into the flavor with the orange once again taking the spotlight before the rich blend of cedar and spices played out.
This badder was very pliable with a warm wax consistency that has a great stick on the end of my dab tool, making dosing a breeze.
Jack Herer is a strong sativa. The effects initially started with focus and motivation but both were lost as the euphoric body buzz became stronger and my mind became far too silly and playful for work. I found myself laughing at the slightest provocation and more talkative than my wife may have enjoyed.
Although the flavors here were a bit more fruity than I remember the classic strain, PTS has a fantastic sativa in this badder. This was, without a doubt, one of the most sativa leaning concentrates I’ve had in Illinois.
