Review: Jet Fuel by 93 Boyz
I’ve often written about the power of genetic lineages as a way to connect with strains that work for personal needs. That was what attracted me to 93 Boyz’ entry for the High Times Sativa Flower Cannabis Cup, Jet Fuel, as the strain combines two personal favorites from my days in Colorado, High Country Diesel and Aspen OG.
Jet Fuel is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of High Country Diesel and Aspen OG. This batch of flower tested at 1.1% D9-THC, 29.96% THCa, and 32.51% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes were β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene, limonene, and α-humulene.

This gram of flower came as two popcorn-sized buds, carrying a bright turf-green color with small clumps of orange hairs and a few deep-forest-green sugar-leaf remnants. The trichome frost was milky and sparkled under light, bringing some additional lightness to the color tone. These buds were very dense but after broken down left a greasy stickiness on my fingers.
The aroma inside the bag was a dense blend of hot diesel, pine, and tangy chemical notes floating among a rich undertone of creamy roasted peanut butter. The tangy notes of diesel and hot chemical funk came through on the palate, in addition to some floral lavender and rose flavors that were undetected in the aroma. The scent and flavor were strong, sticking to my palate (and clothes) after my bowl.
Jet Fuel induced an uplifting and playful energized mental state, accompanied by strong waves of body sensation that provided a feeling of pressure but relief from inflammation at my joints and muscles. The effects were fast acting, putting a smile on my face before I had finished my bowl.
The real sativa benefit to Jet Fuel is in the experienced “long tail” as both the body and mind remained uplifted as the effects wore off. The straightforward flavor profile and uplifting energetic buzz made this a great smoke to pair with a morning coffee. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
