Review: Kush Cake Vape Cart by Cresco
What I love most about tasting and writing about cannabis is being able to see how cannabis cultivars express themselves across various consumption platforms. Whether it’s flower, concentrates (a world of forms in and of itself), or vape carts, a person can find a different expression of the same genetics in each one. I first encountered Kush Cake as LA Kush Cake, and I was excited to come back around to it when I found it as a liquid live resin vape cart from Cresco at Sunnyside Danville.
Kush Cake is an indica leaning hybrid cross of Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies. This vape cart tested at 1.27% CBG, 0.7% CBC, 77.04% D9THC, and 79.55% total cannabinoids. Total terpenes were at 2.2% with β-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and β-myrcene with the highest levels.

Cresco’s Liquid Live Resin has consistently been the Illinois menu option that has tasted the most similar to flower. The Kush Cake vape cart was no different. The inhale started with a creamy mint flavor, like a less sweetened version of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
The exhale was less direct, meandering from a vague, slightly tropical citrus note to fresh flowers before a much earthier forest flavor appeared on the finish. I enjoyed the complexity, and I returned several times just to explore the tasting notes.
I noticed the effects initially as a tingling, almost vibrating feeling near my diaphragm, a sensation I don’t often get from consumption. I also noticed a strong pain relief in my joints. The one-two punch of tingling euphoria and pain relief was motivating and as long as I kept my dosage on the lighter side (think two to three strong drags) my headspace remained functional enough to really lean into some deep work.
Beyond that light dosing level I became spacey and dazed, and my focus was gone. I did enjoy the heavier aspect right before bed but anywhere else in my schedule was a bit too much. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
