Review: Lemon Cherry Gelato Live Resin by Legacy
Once a strain becomes recognizable by an acronym, it has garnered a following. The latest cut to join this illustrious group has been LCG, Lemon Cherry Gelato, and cultivators have started bringing the hyped strain to Illinois. I recently picked up some Legacy Lemon Cherry Gelato Live Resin to review.
Lemon Cherry Gelato is a phenotype of Gelato (Sunset Sherbet x Girl Scout Cookies). This batch of live resin tested at 0.77% CBGa, 11.83% THC, 72.98% THCa, and 86% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 5.7% of the total weight.

A flat pool of vibrant sunflower-yellow carried a shimmering-wet sheen across the top. The terpene heavy resin was easy to scoop and dose, landing somewhere on a spectrum between warm candle wax and honey. Shoutout to the Legacy team for taking the time to curate custom packaging for each concentrate strain, a fun and eye appealing nod to the legacy market, pun intended.
Strong from the jar, the aroma led with a tangy, fruity mix of lemon flesh, lime peel, cherry candy, grapefruit, raspberry, and dried mango. Undercurrents of stainless steel, lemon cleaner, and wet slate provided another layer of complexity, while cutting through the sweet fruit tones. Higher temperatures carried the namesake flavors of lemon flesh and cherry candy accompanied by lime and stainless steel. Lower temperature hits unlocked softer herbal tones of lemongrass, green tea, and orange blossoms.
The headchange came in two distinct waves. Initially, a burst of positivity and happiness shifted my frame of mind and helped me focus on the moment at hand. At the peak though, my headspace slowed, relaxing me as a hazy frame of mind left me feeling detached and distracted. A strong wave of tingling euphoria pulsed throughout my body for the duration of the high. Lemon Cherry Gelato delivered a dense fruity flavor profile, while reliably boosting my mood.
