Sometimes, certain strains feel like they’re made just for me. As a fan of citrus heavy, energetic cuts, IC Collective’s Lemon Diablo fell into that category, so I picked up a Lemon Diablo preroll to review.

Lemon Diablo is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of Lemon Chem and Diablo. This batch of flower tested at 1.26% THC, 24.47% THCa, and 25.73% total cannabinoids.

A simple Elements branded cone and crutch was filled with a finely ground turf-green flower. Other than burning away the extra paper at the end, I did no prework to the joint, and it burned smoothly for almost 15 minutes.

The aroma and a few dry pulls produced a sweet and sharp blend of candied lemon peel, lime flesh, berry, and dried hops, with lighter hints of diesel and chem-style tang near the finish. On the palate, the sweeter notes fell away, and the lighter notes of chemmy diesel and hops became the leading flavors. A hint of lemon remained detectable throughout and clung to the palate for a few minutes after the joint was gone.

Lemon Diablo cleared my mind of anxiety almost immediately, bringing me into the moment and supplying a sense of clarity to my awareness window. Initially, a strong brow pressure pushed down on my forehead, but this evolved quickly into all over muscle relaxation that let me forget my body aches and pains, further reinforcing the calm focus of the mental buzz. While Lemon Diablo helped to order my thoughts and keep me calm, my energy level remained steady making for a more hybrid “anytime” smoke than a boosting sativa.
