Review: Lemon Kush Headband by Cultivate/Ieso
By Theo
Having consumed so many gas and chem strains lately, I was looking to switch things up a little, and break the monotony with some brighter, zestier flavors. Based on the success of Ieso’s recent Cultivate cultivars, when I saw Lemon Headband Kush pop up on the menu at Consume Carbondale for a “reasonable” price, my path became clear.
I got 14.1 grams of tight, sticky kush, well developed and properly cured. This batch of Lemon Kush Headband tested at0.45%THC, 26.10% THCa, and 26.55% total cannabinoids. With a harvest date from February, this flower was gummy and resinous all the way through its ultra dense body. It had obviously been well cared for.

The fragrance was modest yet pleasing one, lemon musk and fresh pine and hops, all clearly detectable. It was obviously terpene rich cannabis.
The smoke was more lemon peel and musk but with burned rubber on the back end, which created a strong and satisfying inhale. The exhale was piney. The musk and pine became more prominent during later stages of combustion, and by this time, the effects had set in properly.

Lemon Kush Headband was listed a 70/30 sativa leaning hybrid, and my experience was on par with that. An uplifting, primarily cerebral head high was immediately noticeable and persisted for a longer than average duration. I found the effects of Lemon Kush Headband both uplifting and anxiety reducing, and sharp, lucid thought was available throughout the experience.
I enjoyed my Lemon Kush Headband as a classic wake and bake, but also as a refreshing pick me up anytime before late evening. I’ve enjoyed the work Ieso has been doing this year and look forward to more offerings. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
