Review: Lime OG Sauce and Tangie & Cream Badder by Bullet Train Extracts
By @Medsforheads
Justice Cannabis Co. has been on an undeniable tear lately. Although housed in some of the bulkiest jars in the state, the cultivator’s flower is demonstrating skill and care from average bud size and trim to trichome quality. As Justice cements its new foothold in the market, the Illinois-based MSO’s radical improvement from once being considered a lower-tier producer is palpable, particularly with the rollout of its new concentrate brand, Bullet Train Extracts.
So much about Bullet Train’s presentation was distinct from their stock shelf neighbors, starting with the viewing window cut out of the bottom of the boxes that surrounded both half-grams I picked up from Greengate Chicago. If you didn’t know these were Justice products from the name, the size of the packaging would be an instant tip-off.
As one of my budtender friends said, the underside “up-terp” angle of this cut-out felt almost naughty, exposing the suspended glass puck’s contents to interested parties without letting excess light in when upright. While aesthetics would never be my sole deciding factor when buying a concentrate, visual appeal had definitive influence on me for these, as the colors appeared healthy and not overly remediated.
Another interesting detail was the total terpene count listed alongside the cannabinoid statistics. The Lime OG sauce and Tangie & Cream badder I got were both testing above 100,000 PPM of terpenes, numerically representing the vibrant flavors on each, though the total itself may have been better replaced with a breakdown of top terpenes to be as informative as it was perhaps intended to be.
While the 80% THC Lime OG sauce mesmerized me with its flowing texture and tingled my palate with a flood of fruity terpinolene, its effectiveness was still a little questionable by the time I had vanquished it. The soupy extract dripped effortlessly off my dab tool into my banger in mid-air and released an intensely flavorful lime vapor that barreled into my lungs like a freight train.
When the coughing subsided, I experienced a mildly contradictory stony sense of focus but not much else in the way of distinct effects aside from a reduction of inflammation, which surprised me considering how dynamic the flower was.
On the other hand, the 78% THC Tangie & Cream badder was an exquisitely smooth dab carrying a big round note of sweet and sour skunk finished with a dollop of salted cream. According to the lab report, the most prevalent terpenes on this strain were b-myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene.
The Tangie & Cream badder handled lightly, like applesauce, yet coagulated enough not to slip away. The psychedelic euphoria that beset me after a hit was so signaturely Tangie, but with an extra dose of dazed from the Cookies & Cream parent.
Whether playing a favorite video game, talking to family on the phone, or cleaning up my apartment, I was able to lock in free of distractions and enjoy total immersion in the present moment.
I look forward to future Bullet Train runs, as well as full grams from the fledgeling brand, and recommend anyone at all who enjoys tasty, lively dabs to keep an eye out on your local dispensary menu.
