Review: Lion’s Mane Vanilla Dark Chocolate Bar by OURS
Nature’s Grace and Wellness has collaborated with the Chicago-based social equity brand OURS to create the Community line of cannabis and mushroom infused chocolate bars that “directly support Black, Brown and Rural Farming in Illinois.” Intrigued, I recently stopped into Trinity on Glen and picked up a Lion’s Mane Vanilla Dark Chocolate Bar to review.
Nature’s Grace and Wellness Lion’s Mane Vanilla Chocolate Bar comes with 50mg of THC, 25mg of CBN, 25mg of CBG, and 5 grams of lion’s mane mushroom extract. The standard sized chocolate bar came portioned into five easy to break off pieces with 10mg of THC, 5mg of CBN, and 5mg of CBG per piece.

Classic in presentation, the rectangular portions were emblazoned with the OURS logo. Creamy and rich, the chocolate was smooth, and the sweet vanilla worked to mask the mushroom well. The only indicator of the heavy lion’s mane addition was a slight grittiness near the finish of the mouthfeel.
The Lion’s Mane Vanilla Dark Chocolate Bar took an hour to fully unfold, providing a carefree headspace and a heavily relaxing physical profile. A lightness set in at my core before spreading outwards to my extremities over the following hour. Relaxed and irreverent, the particular combo of cannabinoids and possibly mushrooms made me silly and boosted my mood noticeably.
The ingredients are sugar, vegetable oil (hydrogenated palm kernel oil and cottonseed oil), nonfat dry milk, cocoa processed with alkali, glyceryl lacto esters of fatty acids, soy lecithin, salt, lion’s mane mushroom powder, cannabis oil and flavor (sweet almond oil, artificial flavor).
Overall, the classic chocolate bar flavor experience was a good vehicle for the interesting approach to cannabinoid and plant medicine infusion, and I hope to see more experimentation from NGW and OURS. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
