Review: MAC 1 Live Sugar by Ozone
It’s no secret I prefer smoking flower as my choice of consumption, which usually means when I sample a strain I go straight for flower. Recently, I noticed I have sampled and reviewed Ozone flower but not one Ozone concentrate. So for a baseline used to review my first Ozone concentrate, I picked up from Ascend Springfield on Horizon Drive one of the most popular strains around and one I have smoked several times in flower and concentrates: MAC 1.
I choice MAC 1 Live Sugar because I find the strain to be a true hybrid in effects with a good flavor profile. MAC 1, also known as Miracle Alien Cookies, is an indica-leaning hybrid strain that crosses Alien Cookies F2 with Miracle 15. This batch of live sugar tested at 78.07 THCa, 2.60% THC, 0.18% CBDa, and 84.13% total cannabinoids.

The glass container had a push and screw-off lid, which was a pleasant change from most of the squeeze and pull-top containers. This golden one-gram MAC 1 constancy matched what I expected out of live sugar with a thick mix of crystals that clumped together with the THCa wax for simple handling at any dose.
The aroma had that familiar MAC 1 funky gas, citrus, and sour musk with notes of lemon, orange, and berry tarts. The flavor delivered a creamy funk, orange and lemon zest, sweet floral, and earthy diesel. The inhale favored the citrus, diesel, and funk flavors, while the exhale highlighted more earthy floral and funk tones.

As mentioned, I find MAC 1 to hit a rare hybrid sweet spot that blends the best qualities from both indica and sativa. Though potent, MAC 1 has never overwhelmed me with raciness or sedation. The effects landed right in that hybrid middle that allowed for day and night use.
The head high hit that cerebral, creative, talkative, uplifting, and overall mood improver I’m used to, while offering a heavy body buzz with a fast onset. The relatively clearheaded and potent head high fits just about any activity or hobby, which I believe is one of the reasons the strain is so popular amongst recreational users and medical patients.

Another reason I believe the strain is so popular with medical patients is because its hybrid effects treat many symptoms and conditions while keeping the patient functioning and productive. The body buzz had a quick onset with a rare heavy-body relaxation that also allowed me to function physically or relax, or a little of both.
Overall, MAC 1’s hybrid effects may be one of the most versatile for treating a myriad of conditions. The strain allowed for day or night use, physical actions or couch relaxing, and social interactions or self-isolation. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
