Review: Macnanna The Antidote RSO by PTS
I don’t review RSO products enough. During our early publication days of Illinois News Joint, I quickly recognized the small community of patients who medicated with RSO, aslo known as Rick Simpson Oil. I recognized their fanatic commitment to RSO as medicine. I recognized their advocacy for RSO. And I recognized the medicinal results they received from RSO. Since then, I have become one of them. To help advocate for the benefits of RSO, I picked up from Consume Chicago Progressive Treatment Solutions’ Macnanna The Antidote RSO.
The Antidote RSO is a winterized ethanol extracted, strain specific RSO, so technically, it’s a Full Extract Canna Oil, or FECO. FECO and RSO are similar extracts made from raw cannabis, but the difference is how they are extracted. FECO is basically derived from ethanol or grain alcohol. RSO is extracted from isopropyl alcohol.

The Antidote syringe contained 0.6g of Macnanna RSO. Macnanna is a cross of Miracle Alien Cookies (Cap’s cut) and Strawberry Banana (Crockett’s Cut), exclusive to PTS. The dosing measurements labeled on the side of the syringe made for proper doses. Still, out of all forms of cannabis, I admittedly have the toughest time with precise RSO dosing.
Though I battle chronic muscle cramping and pain, I luckily don’t have to use RSO daily. I would use RSO more often if I didn’t often work late at night until bedtime. Instead, I save a syringe of RSO for those days when sever pain hits, and I need stronger medication. Usually, I time doses for soreness after long drives, physical work, or—as with this past Saturday—standing on concrete for hours straight.

RSO can be used for edibles, but I usually just eat it straight out of the syringe. I used to prefer to plunge out a long turd of the extract on ice cream because it hardened the extract and made it easier for me to eat and keep from sticking to my teeth. I have a difficult time not getting the RSO all over the place so mostly I use syringes. Now, I found a new food to plunge the extract onto: cotton candy.
Cotton candy sticks to and adsorbs the extract, which makes for clean and easy dosing. Cotton candy also adds sweetness to the RSO flavor, which can be rich oily and sometime bitter. The Macnanna RSO mixed in a sweeter and fruiter flavor than most RSO I’ve tried, and the ice cream and cotton candy just added to the treat.

The effects were also different than most RSO I’ve tried. Usually, a proper dose of RSO energizes me for the first couple hours of a multi-hour buzz. It’s not until the end of the high that I find sedation and sleep. The Macnanna RSO, though, hit hard early with a sedative headspace and a fully relaxed body buzz. The Macnanna RSO also boosted my appetite to the point of munchies, which is a rarity for me.
Even at a low dose for me (0.1g), the Macnanna RSO raced to a head and body high crescendo that became extremely relaxing and sedative. The head high varied from couchlock to trances to thought wandering. The body buzz had a mix of a sinking feeling and buoyancy. Within an hour of the first dose, muscle cramps and aches were relieved.
Eventfully, both mind and body reached a tiring state that readied me for the best nights of sleep I’d had in weeks. These are the types of sleep in which I wake up several hours later in the exact same position as I fell asleep. The next day, I did feel less inflammation and more energy to start the workday.
Overall, the Macnanna RSO had a heavier sedative effect than I’m used to but worked for the treatment I needed it for: server muscle pain, appetite, and sleep. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
