Review: Magic Melon Vape Pod by Rove
While I prefer live resin to distillate, some botanical flavors still pique my interest. Fresh melon is definitely near the top of that list. I recently caught Rove‘s new Magic Melon pod on the menu at Key Cannabis in Carbondale, so I picked one up to review.
Rove Magic Melon Vape Pod is a 1g vape made with a distillate-based oil and infused with botanical terpenes. This vape tested at 93.4% THC and 93.4% total cannabinoids. The heaviest indicated terpenes were limonene, β-bisabolol, and β-caryophyllene.

The Rove stick-style battery stood more than four-and-a-half-inches tall but less than a half-inch thick, making it easy to slide in and out of a bag or pocket. There was a large visibility window near the mouthpiece with a small R-shaped indicator light below. The battery had a USB-C port at the bottom and a simple hit-to-activate mechanism. The Rove batteries come equipped with two power levels and a short preheat function activated by quickly reinserting the pod repeatedly.
The flavor was exactly as advertised, a sweet, crisp note of fresh honeydew melon that leaned slightly more toward the artificial side of the natural-artificial spectrum. Direct and simple, the large hits from the pod system coated my palate but never shifted or revealed the cannabis distillate base. The flavor was surprisingly sticky and left a detectable note on my tongue for more than five minutes after the sesh.
The effect profile wasn’t as direct as the flavor, taking a full twenty minutes to reach a peak. Labeled hybrid, the vape delivered a serene headspace that helped me destress but wiped out my motivation, even midday. The physical profile was stronger than I anticipated with a full indica-style muscle relaxation pulling at my chest and arms. The entire experience was over within an hour, making the Rove Magic Melon a good fit for longer lunches or post-work seshing.
