Review: Opal Aura OG by Revolution
By TammiTokes
I’m a “Rev” girl. I love what Revolution Cannabis puts out. There is a certain quality that comes from Revolution, and whenever something new drops, us “Rev” people run out and grab it. So when a friend of mine told me Opal Aura OG was on the menu at Enlightened Mt. Prospect, I was quick to pick it up.
Opal Aura OG is a cross of Royal Wedding and Cake Crasher. Opal Aura OGs’ cannabinoid content consists of 82% THC and 25.29% THCa with a total of 27.16% cannabinoids. Leading terpenes included limonene, β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene, linalool and α-pinene.

The dense buds were evergreen with marks of purple leaves and stringy auburn hairs running throughout. The white trichomes covering the buds stuck to my grinder. Opening the jar for the first time, I was hit with the smell of hops, citrus, pine, and sugary cake.
The flavor matched the aroma with a mix of citrus, sweet pine, and cake on the inhale with more emphasis on the citrus and pine on the front end and sweet cake flavors on the back end. The exhale followed with a heavy sweet dough, hops, earthy spice, and kushy funk-breath notes, especially on the backend.
This sativa leaning-hybrid in my opinion is best as a “Wake and Bake” strain (fitting our Work Sativa series). I didn’t enjoy Opal Aura OG when I first tried it, but I believe the time of day had something to do with that. I smoked Opal Aura after work and in the evening, but it didn’t fit the time of day. Then, I decided to smoke Opal Aura OG as a wake and bake, and I was not disappointed. It even seemed to taste better in the morning.
The effects were immediate with a heady cerebral buzz, which resulted in a blissful, productive state that allowed me to handle all the craziness of the day with a smile. The relatively clearheaded head high worked well for completing chores and errands. The body buzz, which came much later than the head high, slowly built into a functioning relaxation.
