Review: OZ Kush BX2 by Bedford Grow
While driving through Illinois’ Capital on other business last week, I stopped in at Springfield Maribis to pick up a sativa I hadn’t previously seen on menus before. I picked up a quarter of OZ Kush BX2 smalls (and a couple other products for forthcoming reviews).

OZ Kush BX2 is sativa-leaning hybrid cross between OZ Kush and Peach Ozz (OZ Kush and Peach Ringz) and was developed by Steve Moon and Moonman Genetics. This batch of popcorn buds tested at 0.59% THC, 20.97% THCa, 0.22% CBGa, 0.11% CBC and 21.89% total cannabinoids. The three primary terpenes included β-caryophyllene, limonene, and β-elemene. The stronger secondary terpenes included α-humulene, linalool, α-bisabolol, α-terpineol, and β-pinene.
These terpenes and double OG parentage delivered a Kushy hops aroma with heavy notes of gas and lighter notes of cinnamon, citrus, and lavender. The flavor hit with the same pungent kush but added an even stronger gassy pine taste that was countered by a sweetness of the Peach Ringz lineage. The inhale and exhale also contained earthy citrus, spice, and floral tastes.

The onset of the strong cerebral high hit with a rush to the head within seconds. The headrush faded into a relaxing, euphoric, kinetic head high that carried me like a wave. With the flavor of OZ Kush BX2, I expected more indica effects, but the strong cerebral buzz delivered energy and focus (though at higher or head-rushing doses the concentration hit a pause). The cerebral buzz lasted at a high level for hours.
The creeper body buzz took nearly fifteen minutes to kick in and then fifteen more to settle. OZ Kush BX2 delivered a more traditional indica body buzz. Both the cerebral buzz and the body buzz increased with more dosing, until eventually the OZ Kush BX2’s indica traits delivered a slow sedative that allowed me to wind down from the earlier energy and focus to tiredness and thought wondering. Late in the buzz, the strain consistently boosted my appetite.

OZ Kush BX2 was listed as a sativa, but I consider the effects more hybrid with cerebral sativa leanings and might work best for patients who 1) enjoy sativa and a little energy but not a racy feeling of anxiety 2) enjoy sativa with a stronger and heavier cerebral high than most sativa 3) enjoy a sativa cerebral high with an indica body buzz effects and 4) are fans of sweet kush and gas flavors.
