Review: Pastries #34 by Ozone
The variety of foods that have been incorporated into cultivar names is always entertaining: cookies, chilies, pineapples, garlic, and now pastries. Recently, Ozone released Pastries #34 as part of a batch of new drops. I stopped into Ascend Horizon Drive and picked up a sample to review.
Pastries #34 is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Oreoz and Jet Fuel Gelato, originally bred by Compound Genetics. This batch of flower tested at 0.534% THC, 26.153% THCa, and 27.995% total cannabinoids.

Three chunky flowers with thick middles and pointed tops carried a forest-green base tone, fire orange hairs, and a close but careful trim job that kept some sugar leaf remnants near the surface of the bud. The trichome layer sparkled when held to the light and provided a milky reflectivity. Breaking down the buds by finger lift a sticky sappiness on my fingers.
Pine, hot petrol, and aged-cheddar notes created a funky top end suspended in a rich doughy undertone that struck as more bread than cookie dough. Burning smooth, the smoke was easy on the palate and throat. The fresh pine and gas at the front were outshined by the rich creamy uncooked dough flavor that gave Pastries #34 its name.
Pastries #34 was slow to build, inducing a cloudy haze over my mental state by the 15-minute mark and sapping my focus. While my focus waned, a silly mood overtook me, and my appetite skyrocketed. At the half-hour mark, heavy waves of weighted-style indica pressure started moving through my body. The tail of the Pastries #34 experience left me tired and relaxed, and I enjoyed the strain most as an end of night buzz. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
