Review: Permanent Marker by CAM
The scattershot state-by-state approach to legalization makes branding in multiple jurisdictions an interesting exercise. The newest brand from Pharmacann is called California Artisanal Medicine (CAM) and available in Colorado and Illinois. I recently stopped at Verilife Romeoville and picked up a quarter of CAM’s Permanent Marker to review.
Permanent Marker is a hybrid cross of (Biscotti and Sherb Bx) and Jealousy originally created by Seed Junky Genetics. This batch of flower tested at 1.06% Delta 9 THC and 20.56% THCa. Terpenes were 3.21% of the total weight with β-caryophyllene, limonene, and α-humulene being the heaviest.
Seven fluffy buds carried superfine orange hairs and a few black sugar-leaf remnants that made for notably dark flowers when combined with the deep forest-green base color. Tiny-headed trichomes dotted the surface, glittering in the light, having just started the transition from clear to milky. The interior of the buds was dense with a hashy greasiness but ground up to a coarse powder.
Deep, complex, and pungent, the aroma carried notes of cream and orange flesh, presenting as creamsicle as well as black pepper, roasted meat, hot gas, peanut butter, leather, fresh rain, leafy greens, and cut cedar. Grinding released more herbal and earth notes with highlights of basil, oregano, and wet soil. On the palate the cream and gas came to the front, while the black pepper and cedar provided the finish. Permanent Marker maintained its complexity all the way through the flavor experience but disappeared from the palate quickly with a clean finish.
By the end of my first bowl a sense of clarity and peace began to set in. Permanent Marker inspired an outpouring of creative thinking while still allowing me to maintain my focus. Initially, a tingling and buzzing sensation set in throughout my face, followed by a noticeable increase in body awareness. The buzzing spread to the rest of my body over the next half hour as light waves of energetic euphoria. After the main wave of sensations crested, an overall tiredness took over for more than an hour.
