Review: Punch Breath by One Day
My mantra when choosing strains these days can be summed up as “less fruit, more funk.” For me, meaty, skunky, and funky are some of my favorite descriptors. The new label, One Day, is hoping to help feed the funk hunters by dropping Mendo Breath progeny, Punch Breath. I recently stopped into Stash Orland Hills and picked up a sample to review.
Punch Breath is a hybrid cross of Mendo Breath and Purple Punch. This batch of flower tested at 0.03% CBDa, 0.31% Delta 9 THC, and 28.52% THCa.

Six total flowers, four larger than popcorn and two small stragglers were all lightly trimmed to a Christmas tree point. Thick-orange hairs pushed through a dense milky trichome frost that covered the bright green base bud and purple sugar leaf pieces. The exterior of the buds still had a lively, fluffy structure, but the core carried a dense stickiness, leaving a tacky sensation on the finger.
The aroma was rich, pungent, and varied. An undertone of creamy dough carried notes of candied lavender, aged cheddar, licorice, roasted sesame, basil, and floral burning incense. The flavor carried more of the same richness with the dough turning into a sweet heavy cream on the tongue with floral notes of lavender and incense, creating the body and finish respectively. The incense note was especially sticky, clinging to the palate for a long time.
Punch Breath hit with a clean slate headspace almost immediately, followed by a noticeable mood lift. Good for wiping away the stress of the day, Punch Breath tamped down by anxiety, while sapping my motivation. The physical profile was marked by a warm pressure emanating from my core and an overall heaviness that compounded the effect of the mental couchlock. After the heavy peak, a calm and coolheaded long lasting after glow set in after each sesh. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
