Review: Purple Punch Pod and Battery by Stiiizy
While Illinois carries a wide array of cannabis brands, notable multi-state labels still are making debuts in our market. One such brand is Stiiizy. Known for its footprint in California and Michigan, Stiiizy has recently expanded into Illinois. Curiosity piqued, I visited Ivy Hall Chicago and picked up Stiiizy’s Purple Punch pod and battery system to explore what the company has brought to the Prairie State.
Stiiizy Purple Punch pod is a distillate and botanically derived terpene based oil that tested at 76.15% THC and 78.46% total cannabinoids. The Stiiizy pod and battery system will feel familiar to those who have used modern slide-in magnetic connector vapes like PAX or Juul.
The battery I received had an eye-catching gold color and featured a small ring of light at the bottom that glowed white when activated and red while charging, hugging the USB charging port. Using the system was simple, with an inhale to activate mechanism and just one power setting, eliminating the need for buttons on the Stiiizy device. The entire setup weighed less than a standard disposable vape pen.
Stiiizy used the Purple Punch strain name as a jumping off point, building a sweet and artificial tropical punch flavor that was more an homage to than copy of the namesake strain. Sweet artificial cherry and grape came together with a sweet finish, reminiscent of PEZ candy.
Stiiizy Purple Punch set in and peaked quickly, an effect I find in most distillate based products. My mental state was relaxed but profoundly scatterbrained. High doses made focusing absolutely impossible, so much so that I avoided multiple hits before driving.
Physically, I found some tingling at my crown and extremities that came and went throughout the experience. Stiiizy Purple Punch fit best as a one-off emergency hit to get me through light anxiety when other, more robust medication options weren’t available.
