Review: Purple Thai Cartridge by PTS
Recently, I have purposely been sampling more “chocolate” flavored strains to try and find the many minutiae within those terpene profiles. For a while now, I’ve wanted to try the Purple Thai from Progressive Treatment Solutions but hadn’t been able to find the flower. So instead, I picked up from Consume Chicago a Purple Thai Cartridge.
Purple Thai is a sativa-dominant cross of Highland Oaxacan Gold, a Mexican landrace, and Chocolate Thai. This 0.5g cart tested at 80.46% THC, 0.25% THCv, 0.35% CBD, 0.79% CBN, 2.37% CBG, and 84.22% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes included limonene, β-myrcene, α-pinene, and linalool. With 18 different terpenes registering on the test, the total terpenes reached 4.20%.

The Purple Thai cart came in PTS’s childproof pouch that also contained the QR code for the product’s test results, which we believe all cultivators also should do.
The flavor delivered a more dynamic profile than expected for a cartridge. The front of the hit heavily favored chocolate, coffee, and nutty flavors. On the back end of the inhale, notes of sweet pine, berry, and lavender came through.

The exhale provide the inverse flavor profile with the sweet pine, berry, and lavender on the front end and chocolate, coffee, and nutty flavors on the back end. As always, flavor profiles from carts and concentrates only make me want to try the flower for the strain’s full profile.
The potent effects hit within seconds with an uplifting and energetic cerebral buzz. The high created a long-lasting creative, euphoric, and motivating headspace. At high doses, the effects could reach some thought wondering, but mostly, the Purple Thai kept me productive throughout the day.

The body buzz did not settle in until much later in the buzz. The slow onset made me believe the strain didn’t have much of a body buzz, but then later in the buzz, I realized the relaxation had already set in to ease my muscle aches and cramps without trapping me on the couch.
Overall, Purple Thai definitely fit the criteria for our Work Sativa review series. The Purple Thai cart worked well for morning, day, and afternoon use and quick on-the-go trips. I was able to accomplish multiple tasks throughout the day and as always with carts be discreet when needed. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
