Review: Quantum Runtz by Tales & Travels
Some cultivators tend to use secondary brands as dumping grounds for B-buds and failed experiments, but Revolution Cannabis has been treating its Tales & Travels spin-off brand with utmost care. The brand received specialty packaging and sizes, such as the Party Pack, and recently dropped a brand new strain, Quantum Runtz. I picked up a quarter-ounce from nuEra Champaign to see how it stacked up.
Quantum Runtz is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Animal Cookies #9 and White Runtz, bred in-house by Revolution Cannabis. This batch of flower tested at 0.44% THC, 17.73% THCa, and 18.31% total cannabinoids. The primary indicated terpenes were limonene, β-caryophyllene, linalool, α-terpineol, and α-pinene

The 7-gram bag contained three sizable colas and several smaller buds slightly larger than popcorn. Each piece had been trimmed meticulously into cone-shaped Christmas trees, with deep purple hues contrasting the dark forest green of the flower. Additionally, each bud boasted a glistening, milky white trichome frost, creating some real bag appeal.
At the top of the scent profile, tangy diesel and unripe mango notes appeared. The sweet creamy candy scent that made Runtz famous followed, creating the base of the Quantum Runtz aroma, with additional notes of vanilla and cooking caramel giving the sweet cream note even more weight. The diesel and creamy candy notes came through on the inhale and some surprising savory flavors of black pepper and dill appeared on the exhale.
Quantum Runtz delivered a potent combination of a hard-hitting “stoned” sensation in the head and a feeling of weightlessness in the body, creating one of the most intense body sensations I have experienced in flower strains as of late. After smoking one bowl, I found myself lost in my head, feeling introspective and unfocused.
Eventually, I surrendered to the strain and simply blanked out on the couch. Tales & Travels lists “zen” as one of the moods that Quantum Runtz provides, and I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate the assessment was. The strain created certain stillness to my internal environment that I particularly enjoyed.
Overall, it was an impressive strain that punched well above its weight class, and I can’t wait to try more. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
