Review: Rose Petal and Lotus Flower Prerolls by Spliff Society
I’ve been a fan of Spliff Society botanical wraps since I encountered them at one of my first Illinois cannabis events several years ago. It’s been exciting to watch the brand grow from innovative wraps to a full-fledged regulated cannabis brand. I recently picked up the entire lineup of updated Spliff Society prerolls to review, starting with the Lotus Flower Garlic Z and Rose Petal Layer Cake.
The Spliff Society Lotus Flower Preroll is Garlic Z, an indica leaning hybrid cross of Garlic Cookies and Original Z. This preroll tested at 0.50% Delta 9 THC, 36.34% THCa, and 36.84% total cannabinoids. The Spliff Society Rose Petal Preroll was Layer Cake, an indica-leaning cross of Wedding Cake, GMO, and (Triangle Kush x Skunk #1). This preroll tested at 0.49% Delta 9 THC, 28.42% THCa, and 28.91% total cannabinoids.

Both prerolls were roughly four-and-a-half inches long with a classic cone shape. A black and gold cigar style band, sporting the Spliff Society logo, marked the point where the crutch met the body. The Lotus Flower featured overlapping petals of pale white with blue tips, while the Rose Petal variant carried crimson red petals laid to resemble a live rose. Evenly burning, both prerolls smoked without any canoeing or issues.
The scent inside the tube and some dry pulls on the Lotus Flower Garlic Z produced a savory then sweet blend of garlic, roasted onions, freshly chopped parsley, creamy marshmallow, and smarties candy right at the finish. The sweeter notes came to the front of the palate when burned with a heavy sweet cream and marshmallow blend, leading the fresh garlic and onions, followed by a big hit of tangy diesel that created a lasting finish. Before burning, the Rose Petal Layer Cake provided notes of hot gas, fresh rain petrichor, and wet slate atop an herbal blend of celery seed and pine sap. As the joint burned, the gas flavor took the lead on the palate with simple hints of petrichor and toasted herbs at the finish.
The Lotus Flower Garlic Z blanketed me in a heavy wave of indica-style body pressure that replaced my muscle aches with the sensation of a weighted vest hugging my chest. Mentally, my awareness sharpened as my energy and confidence lifted, leaving me talkative and open. The Rose Petal Layer Cake had a lighter physical side, slowly alleviating my aches and pains, leaving me with a weightless, floating feeling. The headspace shift left me calm, quiet, and introspective.
