Review: Rum Runner Live Badder by PTS
You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone, even at the dispensary. I’ve been hunting for Rum Runner from Progressive Treatment Solutions since January when I watched it come and go from the menu. I hadn’t seen the strain since, so when I saw it pop up as a live badder at Consume Marion, I jumped at the chance to pick up a sample.
Rum Runner is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of Panama Red #6 and Macnanna. This batch of live badder tested at 5.25% THC, 67.99% THCa, and 81.7% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 5.49% of the total weight with β-myrcene, ocimene, β-caryophyllene, limonene, and α-pinene being the heaviest.
I popped the top to reveal a long and thin mound of creamy amber colored badder covered by a thin pool of translucent-terpene heavy oil. Both the badder and the terpene oil were very wet, starting to ooze down with gravity when dosed out on my scoop.
The aroma was unique and multilayered with notes of sweet honeysuckle, pineapple, melon, fresh cut dill, and pine floating over a warm natural peanut butter tone. The flavor carried the floral honeysuckle note as well as cut roses with the pineapple, melon, and sweet dill. The warm peanut butter from the aroma was lost in the sweet tangy mélange of herbs and fruit.
Rum Runner’s experience profile was as energetic and bright as the aroma in the first half, calming my mind and giving me space to think clearly without distraction. My mood lifted, and I became much more optimistic. Light tingles of euphoria traced along my skin. It was at the 45 minute mark that the entire experience took a sharp turn as a hazy and heavier mindscape, alongside waves of physical heaviness set in giving Rum Runner a real two-sided experience.
I enjoyed the unique flavor of this live resin and I plan to explore more form factors of this cultivar. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
