Review: Senorita Infused Margarita by Contract Canna
As cannabis legalization unfolds, people are switching out alcohol for cannabis. Producers have caught on to this trend and are designing products with these consumers in mind. Enter the Senorita Non-alcoholic Margarita from Contract Canna. A new entrant to Illinois’ small list of infused beverages, the Senorita Non-alcoholic Margarita is not only for regular cannabis consumers but also for alcohol consumer transitioning to cannabis.
Senorita Infused Margarita is a 12-fluid-ounce carbonated beverage infused with 5mg of THC. The ingredients are carbonated water, organic blue agave syrup, lime juice concentrate, natural flavors, natural marijuana extract (THC), natural chili pepper extract, citric acid, ascorbic acid, himalayan pink salt, natural jalapeno extract, sodium benzoate, and potassium sorbate.
Inside the can the vaguely green opaque liquid inside provided a scent of sweet fresh lime as the strong carbonation fizzed. The flavor was spot on for a classic margarita with the lime and agave sweetness being the heaviest notes. The jalapeno appeared at the end as a vegetal flavor that emphasized the freshness of the experience. Crisp and refreshing, the sweet flavors never became cloying, and it would be easy to have a few of these on a hot day.
My tolerance being quite high, I had doubts that a 5mg dose would change my state enough for me to notice. Sampling on an empty stomach and the fast moving nature of liquid edibles made this assumption incorrect. A wave of body relaxation overcame me quickly after drinking, relaxing my muscles and taking some of the constant pain out of my joints and back.
Senorita also seemed to notch down my anxiety slightly, giving me space and clarity to focus on work. The light dose worked surprisingly well, and as this is designed as a replacement to drinking, it’s easy to see how one could move through 3 or 4 of these in a night without becoming uncomfortably high.
Overall, I enjoyed the fresh flavors and light calming effect of the Senorita Infused Margarita, and I look forward to watching this market expand, bringing in new consumers and moving normalization forward. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
