Review: Shawnee Hills Dablicator by Bedford Grow
While chemically identical, THC processed through the lungs and THC processed through the stomach provide two completely different experiences. As a budtender, my first question to patients that aren’t getting the effects they need due to tolerance is “have you tried edibles?”. I’ve been a longtime maker of homemade infused treats. I usually produce RSO in house, but I’ve been excited to try the bevy of ready to use, already active oils available in Illinois and none more so than the Shawnee Hills Dablicator from Bedford Grow.
Shawnee Hills is a hybrid cross of Big Hurt and Girl Scout Cookies developed in-house by Bedford Grow. This activated Co2 extracted oil tested at 77.08% D9 THC, 1.2% CBG, and 79.31% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent terpenes were b-caryophyllene, a-humulene, and a-bisabolol.

I spoke at length about the Dablicator brand dispenser that Bedford Grow has brought to the state and how easy they are to use in my last review. I dabbed, twaxed joints, and infused bowls to my hearts content then.
This time, I used the controllable dosing plunger to perfectly dose out a batch of chocolates. Similar to an insulin pen, this twist then push form factor is solid in the hand and has a short learning curve. .

I sampled the oil by itself as a taste test and to see how it would blend into my chocolates. Primarily the flavor was earth forward with a classic hash tone of perfume and a hint of black pepper on the finish, surprisingly clean tasting.
I found this oil to be much easier to consume straight than any of the traditional RSOs on the market both in flavor and consistency. That ease of use continued into my chocolate making experience, and the thin sticky oil blended into my melted chocolates faster than any of the thicker extracts (RSO, FECO) that I used for cooking previously.

The dosed plunger and testing info also made for some of the most accurately dosed chocolates ever to come from my kitchen.
The effect profile took the traditional 45-minute long window to start to really kick in. At a dose of roughly 30mg the headspace was stress free without ever feeling dull or weighed down.
I even found enough of a creativity boost to sit down and write before the body effects became too distracting. The physical profile began as a light tingle in my torso and head before becoming waves of body euphoria that lasted the rest of the experience.
Overall, the Dablicator was a great fit for my cooking experience. The easy to use form factor and lightly flavored easy-flowing oil was a breeze to use compared to traditional homemade RSO. I can’t wait to sample these again to see what other uses we can find.
