I enjoy reviewing boxes, kits, and products that come in sets. There’s a comfort knowing I don’t have to buy extra plugins, adapters, or any other accessories pieces to make the product work. I prefer to be able to charge the device and vape right away. For this review, I found a great kit that includes everything I need in a vape set with the SkyBlue Vapor™ Deluxe Vaporizer.
Before I get to the vaporizer, the SkyBlue’s sleek black box that contains all items is one of the nicest I’ve seen in style and function. SkyBlue packs all needed accessories neatly inside the double-layered box. The box slides out of its case, and inside the velvety top level is the SkyBlue Vapor Battery and travel case (more on the travel case later). Pull the velvety top layer from the box and underneath are all the accessories necessary for a full vaping experience.
The bottom of the box includes a concentrate atomizer, ceramic plate concentrate atomizer, pyrex glass globe with dual oil atomizer, terp cell cartridge (.5ml), two 510 thread cartridge adapters, dry herb atomizer, mouthpiece cover, two dab slabs, micro USB charger, packing tool, cleaning brush, non-stick container, and user manual.
The SkyBlue Vapor Pen is made up of three main parts: battery, mouthpiece, and optimizer. The battery, the longest piece of the pen, has a power button with the SkyBlue logo that lights up. To turn on the pen, press the power button five times. After the button flashes, hold the power button down to heat the atomizer. When finished, press the power button again five times to shut down the device. The mouthpiece covers the atomizers to keep everything inside the pen safe and discreet.
The SkyBlue Vapor Pen works with all concentrates, herbs, and oils and allows me to easily switch out atomizers for each function. Just remove the mouthpiece, load the cannabis, and place the mouthpiece over the atomizer. Once I press the button and pull, each atomizer provides a strong hit. The glass globe, slim oil cartridge, and terp cell cartridge have their own mouthpiece but attach the same.
Each kit comes equipped with a SkyBlue concentrate atomizers. I use this atomizer the most when on the go or discretion is needed. The standard atomizer is easy to fill with about a pea-size worth of Jenny Kush budder. After I pop on the lid, I can carry my sleek purple pen in my pocket until needed. SkyBlue also offers a dual coil atomizer.
Late at night, I load the ceramic plate atomizer with some Blueberry crumble wax for when I want to ease my body and ready myself for bed. This atomizer has a low temperature heated ceramic plate that delivers a precise blueberry aroma and flavor. I prefer the ceramic plate’s low temperature for a more measured and smoother hit when ending the night.
My favorite atomizer, though, is the Pyrex glass globe with dual coil atomizer. Though I don’t take it far from my weed drawer because I’m afraid of breaking it, I use it most often. Inside the stainless steel and ceramic chamber, the two titanium coils that are wrapped around two pure Si02 quartz rods deliver strong heavy rips. The advantages to this atomizer are that I can load, with the deeper dish space, a little more GMO butter and the glass globe, which fits around the steel chamber. The glass globe allows me to see exactly how much of a cloud is collecting inside while inhaling.
The atomizers are easy to snap on and off the pen. Simply pull the atomizer off to the side to snap it out of the pen. Do not pull. Then snap in a different atomizer.
The two 510 thread cartridge adapters allow to me to use with the pen the Pyrex glass atomizer, the terp cell cartridge (.5ml), and any empty or prefilled cartridge. I wasn’t able to review the terp cell cartridge because, well, I forgot to pick up a syringe while at the dispensary. But the medical grade components work like most other carts. Unscrew the lid and fill with our favorite oil. They are 100% leak proof with a pure ceramic core.
The cartridge adapters also allow me to quickly screw on my prefilled G6 cartridge that I use while working in the early afternoon and sometimes in the evenings. I’m thinking about picking up a heavy indica syringe oil or prefilled cart next trip to the dispensary.
The final atomizer is the herb atomizer that I load with some kief from my grinder and some crushed-up dry flower. The herb atomizer delivers a spot on diesel and kush flavor from The Great Ha’tuh I smoked. I save this atomizer for my most flavorful strains.
In the SkyBlue box are also two dab slabs that I really enjoy because of the smaller size. I’m able to load the atomizers with concentrates in a smaller area without having a huge dab mat take up the entire table for just a few scoops. The rectangle dab slabs are white the blue SkyBlue logo on them. The Deluxe Pen Kit also includes a micro USB charger, cleaning brush, packing tool, and black nonstick container for concentrates.
Another feature I really enjoy with the SkyBlue is that I don’t have to click on the pen every time I want a hit. The automatic shut off kicks in after 15 seconds, but when I’m into watching a movie and don’t hit the pen for twenty minutes, I don’t have to click the pen on again. Instead, one push of the button, and the pen delivers another hit, and I don’t have to take my eyes off the screen to make sure the pen is on.
The micro USB charger plugs into the bottom of the pen. Next to the pen’s plugin is a red light that shuts off after the battery is charged, which may take up to 2-3 hours for a fully depleted battery.
The last item that makes the entire kit a “full kit” is the sleek black travel case with chrome trim and blue log on the top. A push-button pops the top open, and inside is a velvety storage space for the pen, its top, the packing tool, and a space on the right concentrates.
I appreciate the diversity in function and practicality of the SkyBlue Vapor™ Deluxe Pen Kit. Sometimes fancy looking vape pens with extra accessories are more important than how the pen actually works, but the SkyBlue Vapor™ Deluxe Pen Kit does both: wonderfully packaged and designed products that function at a high level.
