Review: Sonny G Rosin Cart by Verano
As the market share of solventless extractions continues to grow, one of the most widely available options for experiencing rosin is the humble vape cart. Many consumers will have their initial encounter with solventless concentrates through these convenient battery-powered devices. Bearing this in mind, I recently visited Zenleaf Prospect Heights and picked up a Verano Sonny G Live Rosin Cart to sample.
Sonny G is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of G6 and (Tangie and unknown male). This rosin cartridge tested at 78.81% THC and 82.71% total cannabinoids. Due to the increased sensitivity of solventless extractions to high temperatures, I made a point to select the lowest power battery available, and I highly recommend others do the same.
As I examined the Verano branded cart, I noticed the white ceramic core peeking through the deeply colored amber, almost brown oil. The coloration displayed slight variations, with lighter yellow waves intertwined within the darker oil.
Sonny G’s flavor profile carried a prominent citrus character, with notes of orange peel and lemongrass taking the lead. On the finish, the taste evolved to reveal hints of sage, leather, and earth, providing some complexity. The flavor lingered on my palate for an extended duration, coating my taste buds with the flavor of freshly peeled oranges.
The effects of Sonny G leaned more towards balanced hybrid rather than energizing sativa. Mentally, a subtle haziness set in, impairing my focus but inducing a sense of calm and relaxation. A gentle pressure set in behind my face and remained localized without extending to the rest of my body.
I noticed lightness in my joints and back, indicating the release of tension, although the physical effects did not intensify beyond that point. Sonny G worked well as a citrus heavy easygoing hybrid but never achieved the sativa energy the strain usually delivers. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
