Review: Sour Joker Live Resin by Alchemy
A large portion of my medical cannabis use is focused on getting me through my workday. That’s why I usually look for cultivars that can boost my energy levels and keep me in the game for as long as I need. With mandated overtime on the horizon, I stopped at Consume Marion and grabbed a few selections to fit the bill, including Alchemy’s Sour Joker Live Resin from Ieso.
Sour Joker is a sativa leaning hybrid cross of Amnesia Haze and East Coast Sour Diesel. This batch of live resin tested at 10.18% THC, 70.41% THCa, and 80.57% total cannabinoids. Alchemy did not provide any terpene testing information.

This gram of live resin was a pale golden-straw color similar to a light beer. The resin was spread across the bottom of the jar and had a frosted glass like sheen across the top. There were tiny sugar crystals that revealed themselves when scooped, but they remained incorporated into the heavy terpene sauce giving the resin a jelly texture. With my tool I could get peaks to stand in the jar, but after a minute or two, everything reintegrated and brought that glass like sheen back.
The aroma from the jar presented initially as a sour tropical fruit mélange of passion fruit, mango, pomelo, and bergamot before turning sharply into hot diesel and industrial cleaner. Underneath this blast of sour, I also detected hints of rose and fresh mint.
Upon vaporization that minty green note stole the show becoming more astringent, reminiscent of eucalyptus. The tangy fruity diesel was still present but as a finishing flavor, most noticeable on the exhale.
Sour Joker lived up to its promise and after a short-lived clearheadedness I became giggly and silly, ready to play. While there wasn’t anything in the experience that sapped my motivation, I didn’t find myself particularly mentally energized. Besides a big cheesy smile, Sour Joker provided a healthy dose of pain relief, and the inflammation that usually plagues my joints and spine disappeared.
Overall, I enjoyed the tangy sour flavor and the playful fun mood on this live resin. The silly attitude may not make it a great fit for work, but play is just as important a part of life, no? For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
