Review: Space Monkey (Cultivate) by IESO
I’m a firm believer that two or three smoke sessions are not enough to review a strain. When I review a strain, I don’t consume any other flower, concentrate, or edible. I want to immerse myself in that one strain’s diverse characteristics and benefits while medicating different ailments at different times of the day and performing different activities. This allows me to get beyond the aesthetic beauty of a bud or the initial shock and awe of a strain with a fancy pungent aroma or flavor. I know I’ve found quality when the strain consistently grows on me with each diverse smoke session. And that is exactly what Space Monkey (Cultivate) by IESO does for me.
The slightly sativa-leaning hybrid possesses 21.78% THC levels and is a cross between Gorilla Glue #4 and Wookie #15. The eighth contains one huge bud and a couple other smaller buds that are coated with trichomes and filled with orange pistils. Once the container is popped open, the first aroma hits with a sweet woody pine but then a floral and fruit smell follows. The flavor is just as diverse with the initial burst of lavender and pine but what quickly follows is an array of notes, including cherry, grape, citrus, and diesel. The exhale follows with the same never-know-what-you’re-going-to-get flavor.
Again, the characteristic I enjoy most about Space Monkey is its diversity in aroma, flavor, and medicinal properties. The initial high is a well rounded. And in smaller doses, the high is energetic and creative and euphoric. But after several doses, the strain develops a strong body buzz and eventually makes me hungry and then tired. Space Monkey is great for day, evening, and nights. For getting work done, goofing on social media, binging television, and pretty much anything else.
