Review: Superflux Dawg Daze Live Resin Sugar by IGF
Initially hard for me to find, In Grown Farms new concentrate focused SuperFlux label has been appearing on more dispensary menus lately. It’s not often that we see a new label gracing the limited Illinois menus, especially one focused on my area of fascination, the art of the extract. That’s why I was excited to try In Grown Farms’ Dawg Daze Live Resin Sugar picked up at nuEra Urbana.
Dawg Daze is a hybrid cross of Highwayman and Stardawg bred by Phillip Hague. This batch of live resin sugar tested at 80.766% THCa and 82.86% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes included beta-myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, alpha-pinene, and cis-nerolidol.

This half-gram of live resin sugar came as a small amount of bright orange translucent crystals varying in size from tiny sugar crystals all the way up to legitimate diamond structures. Superflux could have easily selected the larger pieces from my sample and created a real diamond concentrate, finding these crystals in the “sugar” was a pleasant surprise. The different sizes made for easy variable dosing of small sugar dabs when I needed a light dose and big diamonds when I wanted to go further.
The aroma in the jar opened tangy and sour with notes of tart grapes, orange peel, and hot diesel highlighted over undertones of cinnamon, cloves and floral honeysuckle. When vaporized, the gas and tart grapes worked together to create a fleeting sweet grapefruit note before cinnamon, pine, and floral flavors made an appearance. This sugar was notably complex in both the aroma and flavor.

The effects started with a body “lightness” that took away a considerable amount of pain and relaxed me without becoming heavy or stoning. My headspace became open and clear thanks to the potent anti-anxiety effect and even became motivating at low doses.
Even though Dawg Daze is listed as a hybrid, I felt comfortable defining my experiences with this extract as a sativa. One product in, and I’m excited to dig into IGF’s Superflux line. This Dawg Daze was a deliciously complex taste profile supporting a sativa-style high that kept me motivated.
