Review: Wedding Fritter by Sol Canna
As we inch closer to the 2nd Annual Illinois Craft Showcase, scheduled for 12-6 p.m. Aug. 16, we will be focusing the majority of reviews on craft brands that will be attending the event, such as the newly launched Sol Canna. I picked up from The Dispensary Champaign three new in-house strains from Sol Canna’s multiple new drops: Wedding Fritter, Triangle Irene, and HolyGMOly. I started this trio of reviews with Wedding Fritter.
Wedding Fritter is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Wedding Cake and Apple Fritter. Primary terpenes included limonene, b-caryophyllene, linalool, a-humulene, and a-pinene. This batch tested at 29.304% THCa, 0.643% THC,1.132% CBGa, and 31.079% total cannabinoids.

This eighth came as a super-large cola and three other large buds. The buds were covered in cloudy trichomes that faded the light and dark green bud and burnt-orange hairs. The aroma delivered earthy pine, minty fuel, skunk, and hops with back notes of floral spice and fruit. The flavor carried depth with strong earthiness, sweet pine, gas, skunk, and mint that switched the lead with each hit. The back end added notes of spicey fuel or a creamy fruit that switched back and forth with each exhale.
The onset for Wedding Fritter was extremely fast and hard hitting. The high carried a headband pressure that relaxed my thoughts and anxiety without spacing out for the first half of the high. With more doses and later into the buzz, thoughts did wander whimsically. The body buzz controlled the overall high. The fast onset first hit the head but took longer for the body buzz. Once kicked in, the body buzz took over the head high with even more relaxation and tension release.

The body buzz started in the extremities and worked inward, soothing joint and muscle aches and pains. Eventually, the body buzz delivered heavy waves of relaxation that had long-lasting power. I also noticed that, after eating edibles, Wedding Fritter really enhanced the body buzz I already had going, as if unlocking another level. Toward the end of the buzz, the effects became sedative mentally and physically, prepping the body for a good night of sleep.
