Review: Wedding Mints Live Badder by UpNorth
“Shop by genetics” is advice I gave as a budtender, and it’s still a rule I follow when seeking new strains. Wedding Cake is a reliable standby of mine. When I catch the word wedding in a strain name, I take the time to try it out. UpNorth has released Wedding Mints as a live budder, so I stopped into Trinity on University to pick up a sample.
Wedding Mints is a hybrid cross of Wedding Cake and Sinmint Cookies. This batch of live resin tested at 0.2% CBDa, 1.97% Delta 9 THC, 77.79% THCa, and 83.11% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 3.47% of the total weight with β-caryophyllene, limonene, and β-myrcene being the heaviest..

A mound of golden-yellow slightly translucent budder with a heavy terpene sheen on the top, Wedding Mints carried small crystals of THC within that were completely obscured until my scoop was applied. Even with the terpene heavy texture and THC crystals, the budder was easy to manipulate and dose.
The top end of the aroma provided notes of sugary candied lemon, lime, and berry. Underneath the fruity top end, a blend of light menthol and stronger fresh-cut mint provided the finish. The same candied lemon appeared at the front of the palate while the backend of the flavor turned decidedly herbal with notes of fresh thyme, dill, and rosemary, appearing alongside the fresh-mint tone. Overall, the flavor was very “green” in the best way possible.
While Wedding Mints is genetically a 50/50 hybrid, this budder struck as slightly energetic, providing a fast acting tingling euphoria. Mentally, there was a period of wide open awareness and clarity of mind during the first fifteen minutes post dab, but after this point, a loss of focus and fog overtook my headspace. The euphoric tingling lasted for the duration, providing on and off waves of sensation for the better part of an hour.
