Review: Wonka Bars by Twenty-Twenty
As a cannabis reviewer in the Illinois market, one of the biggest benefits of the Illinois High Times Magazine People’s Choice Cannabis Cup is that the judging kits bring together offerings from several different labels in one place. I’ve been eyeing Nature’s Grace and Wellness’ Twenty Twenty brand for quite a while now and but not able to sampled the flower until after picking up the sativa judging kit, which included the Twenty Twenty’s sole contender for sativa flower, Wonka Bars.
Wonka Bars is a sativa-dominant hybrid cross of Garlic Cookies and Mint Chocolate Chip. This batch of flower tested at 0.71% THC, 27.67% THCa, and 29.09% total cannabinoids. The top indicated terpenes were β-myrcene, β-caryophyllene, α-pinene, linalool, and α-humulene.

Two medium and one popcorn bud made up the gram with a bright green flower that carried a few stringy-orange hairs and a dense, fully milky trichome frost. The buds provided a hashy greasiness to the fingers when handled, but they were very dense, requiring some real pressure to get through my grinder.
The GMO genetics came through in Wonka Bars aroma with notes of garlic and freshly turned soil lingering among additional scents of cheddar cheese, sweet basil, cacao, sweet frosting, and coffee. The warm notes of cacao, coffee, and soil persisted at the top of the flavor profile when smoking Wonka Bars, while the finish carried the garlic, as well as some skunky tones at exhale.
Wonka Bars was potent and fast acting, inducing a heavy pressure all around my head while simultaneously giving me a spaced out awareness. My energy levels skyrocketed and I became playful and social even with the spacey mental space. Eventually the pressure in my head moved down into my body becoming a tingling euphoria and reinforcing the energy boost I was already feeling.
Even with the high energy level, I remained calm and collected for the duration. Wonka Bars was a potent sativa and a favorite from the Cannabis Cup kit, I look forward to more from Twenty Twenty. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
