Review: GMO by Aeriz
I’m please to introduce a new Illinois brand to the “Thirty % Plus THC” review series. For more than a week, I hadn’t seen a strain on a menu near me with thirty-plus THC levels. Then within 48 hours, I found three on the NuMed Urbana menu, including GMO by Aeriz.
GMO, also known as Garlic Cookies, is an indica-leaning hybrid cross between two powerhouse strains: Chemdog and Girl Scout Cookies. This batch’s total THC levels clocked in at 31.22%. GMO has a distinct pungent aroma, and when I popped open the container, the smell filled up my office. GMO’s beta caryophyllene and beta myrcene terpenes delivered a complicated garlic odor. The garlic aroma was front and center but behind that was a layer of other smells, including a sweet diesel and earthy coffee. GMO’s lesser amounts of limonene also added notes of citrus to the back end of the inhale and exhale.
The green buds were bursting with cream-colored trichomes, long rusty pistils, and purple-green leaves. The distinct flavor was similar to the aroma with a garlic front and then layered notes of sweet diesel and earthy coffee. Both were intoxicating in the best way possible.
I preferred medicating with GMO during the late evenings or at nights. The potent high that GMO delivered matched the aroma and flavor. Both were a great mix of the unexpected. The mood lifting and thought provoking head high mixed nicely with the extreme body relaxation. The psychedelic head high kept me awake and chilled, and the more I medicated the heavier and heavier body buzz became. Two of my favorite traits for an indica-leaning hybrid. To add to the medical benefits, I ate and slept well after each night of medicating on GMO. This was the first time I had seen GMO flower on any dispensary menu in my area (and it was off the menu in one day), but if I see it again, I’m sure I’ll include it into my night routine.
I’m looking forward to reviewing more products from Aeriz and Wellness Group Pharms, an Illinois-based aeroponic medical cannabis cultivator. Aeriz, based in Anna, is a national medical cannabis brand that incorporates an aeroponic growing process, which uses a recyclable grow medium instead of soil.
