Review: Island Sweet Skunk from Cresco
Before receiving my Medical Cannabis Registry Card, I was stuck with a strong indica strain that had been knocking me out after a couple hours of work. But the day I printed out my provisional access letter, I drove to Sunnyside in Champaign to purchase the one high-energy sativa in stock. Island Sweet Skunk (21% THC) from Cresco Labs, a cannabis and medical marijuana company based in Chicago. It was at that moment I decided to find the best “work sativa” strains and review them.
Island Sweet Skunk engaged my imagination, creativity, and allowed me to keep inspired and focused on the task at hand. But I also enjoyed the relaxing affect on the body and muscles, especially on the backend of the high. As a “work sativa” strain, Island Sweet Skunk definitely makes the cut. Though I haven’t had the chance to take advantage of more Island Sweet Skunk, I would. I am sure after reviewing several more energetic sativa strains, I’ll circle back and try this one again.
The buds were light green with pale orange stigma hairs and long-stemmed trichomes. It had a fruity aroma with hints of grapefruit. It boasted tropical fruit flavors on the inhale and a sweet skunky flavor on the exhale. Island Sweet Skunk, also known as Sweet Island Skunk, is a descendant of Pink Grapefruit and Big Skunk #1.
Other Cresco Labs strains I am looking forward to reviewing include Apple Rock Candy, Durban Poison, Sour Diesel, and 707 Headband.
