Division of Cannabis Regulation updates Video Permit Form
The Illinois Department of Agriculture – Division of Cannabis Regulation (IDOA–DCR) posted for download an update to the Media Request and Video/Photography Permit Application form. The new form adds more compliance details for media products created or produced on the premises of a cannabis licensee, including a new provision about advertising.
One of the newly added conditions states, “Agreement that footage will not be used for advertising or purposes inconsistent with the CRTA (Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act).” The CRTA does not include a definition for advertising. Other provisions in the application form include:
– No filming or photographing vaults, security procedures, registered product names, or plant tags with product names.
– Visitors must be escorted, logged, and issued visitor with badge
– No filming or photography of any security video screens, locations of video cameras, or security vulnerabilities.
– No filming or photography of delivery vehicles or vehicle license plates
– No filming or photography photograph or film agent badges
– No filming or photography blueprints of facilities
A completed form must be submitted by the facility when requesting approval for media entry, video or film recording, photography, or similar activities inside a licensed cannabis facility. As required under the CRTA, all media requests must be reviewed and approved by the IDOA–DCR prior to any onsite activity.
