Green Rose dispensary starts new chapter for Illinois
Collectively, the newest dispensaries built in Illinois have some of the best interior designs as any collective group of buildings in the state. Next year, Illinois is set to start a new chapter with nearly 200 new dispensaries opening. Leading the wave of new licensees with a unique interior design is recently opened dispensary Green Rose.
Green Rose is a Chicago based cannabis company with an experienced Veteran, Female, Black and Latino ownership team committed to providing customers with top-line products and an exceptional customer experience. Green Rose is located at 612 North Wells, Chicago, and provides free parking.

“Our mission with Green Rose is to elevate cannabis and offer our customers the most high-end cannabis experience in Chicago,” said Green Rose Advisors and Green Rose Cannabis CEO Ross Morreale. “We have created a beautiful setting with some of the industry’s most experienced and friendly budtenders who can introduce customers to our curated supply of Illinois’ most popular cannabis brands and products.”
Green Rose is using its symbol of a rose to soften the stigma around cannabis and to create an environment at Green Rose that embodies the beauty of the cannabis plant and where everyone feels comfortable and welcome.
“We had specially designed wallpaper created by Toronto based artist Candace Kaye, who was commissioned to create a print that depicts a mythical transformation of a rose into a cannabis plant and includes thorns which are native to roses but also symbolize the edgy side of cannabis and the history of prohibition,” said Operations Manager and GRI Holdings co-founder Veronica Hunt.
The interior also includes a green floor, state of the art ordering kiosks, and in-store pick-up. When the Green Rose team started GRI Holdings back in 2019, the goal was to win some licenses and now that they have secured two dispensary licenses, a craft grow, infuser, and transporter, GRI is focused on expanding its business relationship with Green Rose Cannabis to become the most valuable asset in the Green Rose Cannabis portfolio.
The team, which also includes Compliance Director and GRI Holdings co-founder Jay Stewart and Security Director and GRI Holdings co-founder Tom Wheeler, believes that the increased competition should gradually bring down retail prices, which is good for consumers and the overall market.
“The new licenses are important because they present opportunities for veterans, women, minorities and those impacted negatively and unfairly by the War on Drugs to create and work in independent dispensaries that can compete with the multi-state operators that have dominated the Illinois cannabis market since its inception in 2015,” Hunt said.
