Grow Journal 67: Lemon Cleaner by 34 Mongrels Genetics (Part 2)
For Part II of this grow journal, I smoked the finished product from my Lemon Cleaner (see Part I) grow and am back to report. Lemon Cleaner is a sativa-dominant cross of Lemon Bubblegum and Mr. Clean, bred by 34 Mongrels Genetics.
The dense spade-shaped buds were light and dark green with rusty-orange pistils and a heavy layer of trichomes that made the buds sticky to handle, leaving a smell of sharp lemon-lime skunk on the fingertips. The aroma and flavor changed throughout the late grow and cure. Before chop, I sampled a few buds, and the flavor hit with the same sweet lemon as the Lemon Bubblegum, but after chop, the flavor changed to that terpinolene-heavy sour-lemon, anise lime, burnt orange, citrus, pine, and skunk. After drying the buds, the terpinolene-heavy flavors were even more prominent. It wasn’t until weeks into the cure that the aroma and flavors creeped back to more natural lemon, sweet pine, skunk, and sharp citrus with back notes of sweet fruits, creamy cheese, and earthy cherries.
The potent effects were cerebral, uplifting, euphoric, motivating, clearheaded, and fit perfectly for our Work Sativa. The heady high sat heavy in the top of the crown and eyes and delivered a strong floating-like body buzz that kept me highly motivated. Lemon Cleaner has been a great Work Sativa (even more so than the Lemon Bubblegum) for mental work, physical work, chores, chatting with friends, gaming, and any other activity I was motivated to do. The happy and uplifting buzz made almost every task better.
Lemon Bubblegum became one of my favorite flavored strains, and Lemon Cleaner has climbed to the top batch of Work Sativa I use consistently. For more Illinois cannabis industry news, subscribe to Illinois News Joint’s newsletter here.
