Hatch dispensary announces 100K cannabis scholarship
Hatch Wheeling adult-use only dispensary recently opened at 1500 E. Lake Cook Road in Wheeling, just 2 miles west of 294. Hours of operation are 9 AM to 9 PM, Monday–Saturday, and 10 AM-6 PM on Sunday.
The new Hatch occupies what was formerly a freestanding TGI Friday’s adjacent to a
Target Superstore and Binny’s Beverage Depot. The 5,800 square foot former restaurant was totally gutted and reimagined as a next-level dispensary experience.
The space is designed by DMAC Architecture, which is known for its creative and immersive architecture in hospitality, wellness, and other consumer facing spaces.
Along with the new opening, Hatch announced a $100,000 donation to Oakton Community College to create the Hatch Social Equity Opportunity Scholarship.
The scholarship supports social equity students enrolled in the College’s cannabis programs by providing resources for tuition, books, and fees. Additionally, the scholarship supports internships at Hatch for qualified social equity students who are interested in learning the ropes of operating a dispensary and perhaps applying for their own dispensary license in the future. Hatch chose to donate to Oakton Community
College due to its status as a leader in cannabis education and commitment to helping to build a trained cannabis workforce.
“Our team of experts at Hatch is extremely passionate and has worked diligently to curate a thoughtful catalog of the best products and brands available in the state,” said President of Hatch Gary Leff. “We look forward to servicing the Wheeling community and surrounding neighborhoods, guiding patients and customers with our knowledge and care during each and every visit.”
