Review: Caramels by Bedford Grow
A few weeks ago when I stopped in at Maribis of Springfield on Grandview, I picked up edibles because I’d tweaked my back mowing and planting tomatoes. I was tired of gummies and chocolates, so I snagged the handcrafted Caramels by Bedford Grow.
Five individually wrapped Caramels came in the glass container. Each piece contained 20mg of THC. The ingredients included cream sugar, corn syrup, butter, kosher sea salt, cannabis oil, vanilla, and the product contains milk.
After a few chews, the soft light-brown caramels melted in my mouth. The flavor matched those of homemade caramels I’ve enjoyed at holiday functions but with a twist. After the first few chews, a subtle sea-salt settled in that counterbalanced the sweetness for the rest of the flavor.
My standard flavor question for edibles has always been this: Would I pick this product off a grocery store rack and eat it as a treat. The answer to that question for Bedford Grow Caramels’ was yes. I’d have no problem eating these as a non-infused treat.
The onset, unlike Bedford Grow’s Gems Gummies I reviewed here, hit quicker than the Gems Gummies. On the other hand, the effects were similar to the Gems in that the caramels delivered a strong cerebral buzz with energy, but when the body buzz caught up later in the buzz, the clear-headedness and energy started slipping.
The body buzz also was effective for evening and night relaxation and for my tweaked back. Each night after dosing, I slept well.
Overall, the caramels were one of the better tasting edibles I’ve reviewed, especially if looking for something different than gummies or chocolates.
