Homegrown Review: Grapefruit Sorbet by John Grow #36
John Grow #36 is back with another G.O.A.T. Genetics strain he created called Grapefruit Sorbet. Grapefruit Sorbet is a cross of Rainbow Sherbert #11, a.k.a. RS11 (Pink Guava with a Sunset Sherbert), and Planet of the Grapes (Grape Diamonds and Chem D-95).
Grapefruit Sorbet buds are dense and the shape and size of an outdoor Christmas-light bulb. Heavy, milky and long trichomes cover the olive and light green colors with blotches of rust-colored pistils spinning outward. The aroma carried a sweet and sour fruitiness reminiscent of a mix of Smarties and Froot Loops with back notes of berries, grapes, sour citrus, cherries, pine, and sugared candy.
The flavor delivers a smooth inhale of the sweet and sour fruitiness and adds an overall creaminess to the sour citrus, berries, cherries, pine, and sugared-candy notes, especially on the front end of the inhale. The back end of the exhale finishes with an extra sour citrus note mix with slight hints of nutty spice and sour tobacco.
The effects land right in that middle-hybrid spectrum with a relaxing head and body buzz with no energy boost or loss but more of a complete overall chill. The head high at lower doses is mentally stimulating and relaxing at the same time. At higher doses, Grapefruit Sorbet causes some thought wandering and heavy headband feeling around the forehead and temples. The body buzz starts in the extremities and works inward until a heavy-blanket and then sinking feeling sets in. The overall body buzz also is more of a chill mode than an energy booster or sedation. After several doses or all day use, Grapefruit Sorbet can lean toward a heavier relaxation, but overall, Grapefruit Sorbet is good to use during the day or at night.
