Homegrown Review: Ice Cream Cake Bx1 x Gelato 41 Bx1 by John Grow #30
Most medical cannabis cardholders have a story behind the reason why they grow their own medicine, and often those stories stem from tragedy. John Grow #30 understands tragedy as origin as well as anyone. About four years ago while living in Colorado, John Grow #30’s best friend came to visit. His friend was taking prescription Klonopin for anxiety and didn’t properly stick to his medication schedule. Withdrawal symptoms set in quickly, and his friend seized in his sleep. John Grow #30 found him passed away the next morning.
“I feel like if he would have had easier access to cannabis for his anxiety instead of pharmaceuticals, he might still be here,” said John Grow #30, who has been a medical cardholder for four years and growing his own medicine for three years. “He was only 19. There are others who are suffering and experiencing the same things, and they need help. That is why I grow.”
So John Grow #30 is here to let us know about his recently harvested Ice Cream Cake Bx1 x Gelato 41 Bx1 by Tiki Madman. Ice Cream Cake is a cross of Wedding Cake and Gelato #33, and Gelato 41 is a cross of Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Cookies.
The extremely dense Ice Cream Cake Bx1 x Gelato 41 Bx1 buds deliver a sweet, pine, mint, earthy, and hops aroma with notes of vanilla cake and ice cream. The double shot of gelato and mint lineages loads the flavor with sweet cake, sugary mint, and vanilla frosting with back notes of pine, citrus, and a kushy funk. A strain made for the sweet-flavor chasers.
The strain provides classic hybrid effects with a strong body buzz and functioning clearheaded high. The cerebral high can be creative and productive with medium to low doses and a little “thought wandering” with heavy doses. The body buzz builds with more doses and stacks like heavy quilts. Eventually, the head high and body buzz add some sedation, especially after prolonged use.
“I am so very thankful we have the right in the state of Illinois to grow our own medicine, said John Grow #30. “We need as many people to practice this right as possible. For the plant! For the people!”
