Homegrown Review: Ice Cream Cake by John Grow #13
John Grow #13 adds to our Medical Patient Homegrown Reviews with a favorite strain several Illinois brands are currently cultivating: Ice Cream Cake. Ice Cream Cake, bred by Seed Junky Genetics, is an indica-dominate cross of Wedding Cake and Gelato 33.
John Grow #13’s latest harvest of Ice Cream Cake definitely has bag appeal with thick thumb-sized colorful buds powdered in creamy trichomes. The buds are light green with darker green and purple hues throughout.
The aroma hits with a sweet chemical funk and fuel with notes of earthy sweetness. The taste is built for flavor chasers, especially for its creaminess.
The flavor is more dynamic than its creamy profile, though, with notes of sweat vanilla, sugary fruit, and chemical funk. The most pleasant feature is the smooth creamy vanilla flavor late in the exhale leaving a satisfying aftertaste that craves for another hit.
Ice Cream Cake effects are uplifting and euphoric at the onset but quickly start to relax the mind and body. The head high hits heavy and can cause thought wondering but as the heavy body buzz catches up, the head high slips into sedation.
Though still euphoric and pleasant, the head high steadily becomes more sedative as the body buzz takes over. The body buzz stacks on itself and becomes heavier with each dose, until the entire body is floating in waves of relaxation.
The Ice Cream Cake also boosts appetite and helps deliver a solid night sleep each night. Overall, medical patients could medicate with Ice Cream Cake for muscle cramps, lack of sleep, stress relief, and overall relaxation.
